Yesterday evening the UK Centre for Carnival Arts had its grand opening celebration. And it was spectacular! A true celebration of the incredible diversity of this town, and after all the challenges of past weeks that I have written of - and of which more soon - it was so good to enjoy it, and it made us proud to be a part of this amazing town.

The new centre is next door to St Mary's Luton where I worship and base my work. So as a welcome to our new neighbours we hosted a service as a part of the days events to Celebrate Carnival at the church. On the bill were the Luton Gospel Community Choir, Nadine Madi playing a solo on the Steel Pans, an interview with paul Anderson the director the the Centre, and Yemi Adedeji preaching.
There si a good article on the Guardian website on the work of the centre - Dragons emerge as carnival centre opens in Luton - and on the BBC here, but no recordings of the show last night - a great shame. I have already posted on this: Carnival Arts! and before that Coming soon! UK Carnival Arts Centre in Luton
I am looking forward to working more with them to enjoy the cultural diversity of this town.
